Greetings and Salutations!!

We welcome everyone and hope that in the coming months we can create a thriving online hub of community in which members interact with each other, share their love of these genres, and take part in online events/activities.

As well as, creating a home away from home,  a place far from the Covid-19 grind, now that in-person events have been shut down for the time being. It is so important that we do not lose touch with each and retreat within our small insular bubbles, that can be lonely and unforgiving for people who love these genres. We are all about sharing our ideas, our costuming triumphs, and the vibrant DIY resourcefulness that lives in all of us.

Please join our communities and our shenanigans. We love to meet new people and create fun and fantastic experiences to share with new friends. It is our greatest desire to get to know all of you, and create a wonderful oasis for all of us to find sanctuary from the turmoil of the world through the diverse universe of creativity. Here we can enjoy and rejuvenate in a positive and fun loving atmosphere so that we can all go back out in the real world to face another day.

Anyone can become a member or citizen of our groups or communities. Some have a cost attached and some do not. We are very clear on which ones have fees and which ones are free. You can also join as many of the groups or communities as you like because people rarely just like one genre.

Please see below for our events calendar that will include the dates for all the events that all the communities above will hold. Also check out our paid plans so that you will be aware of the fees attached to those specific memberships.

All Our Event Information

Tickets In One Awesome Place!
Huzzah!

We realized that scattered event pages, multiple ticket systems, and the sheer amount of events that we are offering  demanded a centralized hub that our attendees could go to to quickly discover all the things, and buy tickets for all the things. It was time to make things simple. And, so we did.

Our Subgenres Event Hub on Eventbrite is our solution to providing a one stop shop for our attendees to find out about our events, and see which ones they wish to go to. When you visit the Subgenres Event Hub you will find all of the upcoming shenanigans we have in store.  You will see all the important dates to note and ticket prices. If you wish to find out more about the various events there is information provided for you to quickly get the gist of what we are offering.

Please use and enjoy our Subgenres Event Hub and we look forward to seeing you at our events in the future.

A CALL TO ALL STEAMPUNKS OF THE WORLD:

An open letter is included below.

Hello Steampunks Worldwide,

We will be creating our online poster for the Tea (our yearly Steampunk convention). We would love to be able to connect the various Steampunk groups around the world to our poster.

It is our goal to have a small icon of the city the Steampunk group is from, when a visitor clicks on the icon a short video of the group appears. Each video should be short, but we encourage everyone to say hello, tell us your group name, where you are from, and what Steampunk means to your group. If you have any cool events you are welcome to mention them.

I look forward to learning about all of our fellow Steampunkers out there and sharing the world with our guests.

OPEN LETTER TO ALL STEAMPUNK GROUPS:

STEAMPUNKERS OF THE WORLD UNITE!

JOIN US FOR

THE SOCIETY FOR THE ETHICAL TREATMENT OF THE KRACKEN’S 6th ANNUAL TEA AND BAZAAR STEAMPUNK CONVENTION

“AROUND THE WORLD IN 8 HOURS!”

Embracing our Culture and Heritage by bringing our Steampunk brethren from around the world together for one day is what this year's Annual Tea is all about.

On June 12th, 2021 Steampunkers Around the World can unite on our website, subgenres.net during our yearly convention. Phileas Fogg travelled Around the World in 80 Days, but with the magic of the Internets we will travel Around the World in 8 Hours!

Broadcasting 4 Hours in the Afternoon and 4 Hours in the Evening (CST). We want to invite you to virtually travel Around the World and Party with us!

But first, we ask you to make a short (30 to 60 second) video clip of your Steampunk group and send it to us. Tell us what you do, your events and what Steampunk means to you. We are hoping to collect your videos and have them up and linked to our poster well ahead of June 12th, so that people can watch and enjoy them. As well as go and visit your pages, websites, or online content. So, please don't wait too long to send us your videos. Submission starts now, and the deadline for videos will be June 6th, 2021.

We will put your video clip on a map of the World that will become our online event posters. It will also have a special page on our website especially devoted to showcasing all of you to our guests. We are hoping that people around the world can click on your city's icon and your Steampunk group video will appear. And, people from all over the world can meet you and learn about you.

Then in the coming months, you can sign up to join us for the virtual Online Tea and we can meet you face to face. We are unsure as of yet if there will be an in person Tea this year, but there will definitely be an online version. And, this year we are stepping up our game with improved content and production.

You can sit in your parlor and join us over a cup of tea and celebrate the magnificent contributions and wonders each and every one of us brings to the Steampunk Universe!

HUZZAH!

For more information on our group, to send your video clip or to join in on the virtual convention, connect with us at subgenres.net. You can send your video or any inquiries to KrakenRus2020@gmail.com.

We look forward to having you travel Around the World with us and meeting with you over a STEAMY cup of Tea on the June 12th, 2021!

Save the Date!!

With Much Admiration You Wonderful World!

About Subgenres

We at Subgenres endeavor to create spectacular gatherings that bring the world of the imagination alive. It is our goal to provide experiences that allow our guests to set aside the cloak of their ordinary existence and don one that takes them to another time, place, and universe.

"It was as If I stepped onto a movie set and lived a character for

an evening."

 - Kathleen Williams, Night of Veils - Empire of the Night Event

Our events focus on bringing alive environments that are only found in the fictional world, such as Faerie Feasts, Vampire Holidays, Steampunk Teas, and Zombie Apocalypses. Yes, our events are not the norm, but that is the charm of what we do.

              " I laughed, I cried, I screamed, I died......I had the best time ever!"

                    - Matthew Taggert, Zombie Apocalypse survival Game

Subgenres can create a special occasion for you as well. IF you wish to hold a party that celebrates a stepping stone in your life and give it an otherworldly theme, contact us. We will help you provide a supernatural experience that you can cherish. Make the moments that count magic and treasure them for a lifetime, or several lifetimes (depending on your take on the space time continuum).
